Frequently Asked Questions

We do not tattoo minors under the age of 18, regardless of parental consent. However, we will happily do a consultation with you to set up an appointment for your 18th birthday!

To set up a consultation, you can call or text (585)-465-4077, message any of our socials, or use the Booking tab to pick a date yourself. When reaching out to book a consultation, please be sure to include placement, design, and approximate size so we can give our artists the best idea of what they're going to be working with.

Dark Pearl's shop minimum is $100, with hourly artists at $150/hr. We do have a Get What You Get machine that is $80 for one of two randomized designs (there's a book of themed designs so you're not going in blind!).

By paying a deposit, you agree that you understand and consent to the following:

• All deposits are non-refundable.
• A deposit covers 2 design drawings, the first of which will be available on the day of the appointment, and the other of which will be made available if a total redraw is necessary. The artists of Dark Pearl Tattoo reserve the right to not send designs electronically.
• If a third drawing is required to be drawn, then the deposit process starts over and the new deposit will cover 2 new drawings.
• $50 deposits are only for $100-$150 tattoos; drawings will still be available on the day of the appointment, and redraws or alterations are not cause for a new deposit.
• A no-call no-show or cancellation less than 24 hours before your appointment (except in extreme circumstances) will cause that deposit to be forfeit; to book another appointment, the deposit amount will double as the process starts over.
• If 2 or more no-call no-shows or cancellations happen from the same client, the artists of Dark Pearl Tattoo reserve the right to refuse any future services with that client, at the artists' discretion.

Plastic wrap:

Remove plastic wrap after 1-2 hours. Clean tattoo with warm water and unscented antibacterial soap. Let it dry for 15 minutes and apply a light layer of Aquaphor or A&D 2-3 times a day for 3 days. After 3 days, switch to moisturizing with unscented lotion.

Saniderm:

Leave saniderm on for approximately 5 days. Once that time is reached or the saniderm is heavily peeling, rinse under warm water and carefully peel the saniderm off. Clean with warm water and unscented antibacterial soap. Moisturize with lotion daily after removal.

Do not scratch, pick, or peel your healing tattoo.

Do not engage in direct sunlight or sunblock, no water submersion (no hot tubs, pools, baths (warm showers are okay!)) for 2-3 weeks.

Do not put scented or chemically-intensive products on your healing tattoo for 2-3 weeks.
